HAPPY 10 YEARS!

It was ten years ago today {May 18, 2001} that each of us walked across the stage at the Sundome, received our diplomas and tossed our caps in the air as we were officially announced as the Deer Valley High School Graduating Class of 2001!!!

Details of our 10-year reunion are still in the works; however, we want to provide everyone with the tentative ideas/plans at this time. 

Friday, September 23rd will be Deer Valley's Homecoming parade and assembly. The parade will begin at 9 AM and starts at 47th Avenue & Grovers, and will go west along Grovers and back north up 51st Avenue to the high school. The assembly is in the gymnasium right after the parade at 10 AM. Sometime on this day we're looking to arrange a time where alumni can come to the high school for a tour to see the new improvements to Deer Valley (see previous post for before and after images of the modernization process.) Any and all alumni are invited to participate in these events. Prior to the football game (7PM), there will be a tailgate party in the parking lot (B) behind the bleachers. Tickets to get into the football game are $5 however there is a package you can buy for $10. This would include a game ticket with both food and drink. We hear there might be some special highlights during the football half time!!!!! And possibly after the game a casual adult-only night out at a bar and grill that is TBD.

Saturday, September 24th there will be an adult-only event for graduates and spouses/significant others. 

NOTE: This part will take the most planning and anyone who can donate their services or offer discounts, please let us know! (i.e. - a venue, photography, photo booth, food, etc.) We're trying to keep this as low-cost as possible so this reunion weekend is as affordable allowing all grads to attend!

Sunday, September 25th a family-style picnic & BBQ at a park (location TBD) where everyone can come and bring their own food/drinks as well as kids, spouses, significant others, etc!

This is a very brief overview of what's in the works so please let us know what you think! Also, if you know alum of the Class of 2001, please make sure to spread the word! If you know people from our class who have a Facebook page, please share this page. For those people that you know that do not have Facebook, please help keep them in the loop as well. We have an email address setup (DVHS01@hotmail.com) and a blog (DVHS01.blogspot.com) that will be started soon. Anyone who would like to be on the distribution list for emails that will be sent out periodically can send a private message to our page and we will add you. The link to the blog will be posted soon and you can share that with anyone, Facebook user or not, so that everyone has access to information!

We hope to make this a very memorable 10-year class reunion and hope that as many people as possible will attend! HAPPY 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CLASS OF 2001!!!

Deer Valley 2011 Modernization Process

Big things are happening this year not only for our high school in the modernization process but also for the much awaited, highly anticipated 10 year reunion for the 2001 graduating class!!! We have a date selected and additional details coming VERY SOON! Thank you for your patience!
